I purchased an online order. The heels were too big. I read on the back of the receipt that i could return in a store. I get to the store. It's two ladies (Caucasian) in front of me and one behind me. The employee name is Abbie. I hear her greet the two ladies when it's there turn to purchase their items. Now it's my turn. I'm a black woman. I walk up waiting to be greeted. I get nothing. I sit the shoe box on the counter. She grabbed the box. I said the shoes are too big. She didn't ask if i wanted to exchange them or anything. So i say can i just do in store credit. I have a wedding coming up and i left my other money at home thinking i could just use the in store credit and grab some shoes. She tells me NO because you have an online order. She gave me a receipt and that was it. I went to my car and looked at my previous receipt from the online order. It says i can get store credit. So just to make sure i call the dsw store in hillsboro. I spoke with a manager and she told me i could of got store credit. She said to go back and speak with a manager. I go back inside and wait in line so i can ask for a manger. There was a lady in front of me. Of course she greeted her. Now it's my turn. She just stares. I ask for a manger. The manager came over in less than two minutes. She was very very polite. I told her what happened. She looked at me and said she doesn't know why the employee Abbie told me No i couldn't do in store credit because they do in store credit even with online orders. The manager tried to help me find a shoe. She offered me 30% off due to her co worker's "mistake". She had great customer service. I can say i didn't like how i was treated by Abbie. If it wasn't for the kind manger i would give 1 star.
