The woman struck by a hit-and-run driver in Tigard Monday night has died, officials said. Police continue to search for the driver of the car that hit her. Maria Negrete, of Tigard, was hit shortly before 9 p.m. Monday after she and her boyfriend had stopped their car on Southwest Hall Boulevard in an effort to find an object they'd thrown or dropped out of the vehicle, Tigard police said. Police have not specified the object the couple was trying to retrieve. Negrete, 45, was the single mother of five children.
