Speaking as an Oregon elder, it pains me to think about climate change and the future awaiting young people and upcoming generations. Meanwhile, the fossil fuel industry continues to do everything it can to slow the transition to renewable energy. They're able to do this because big banks keep loaning them money to develop new pipelines and oil fields, even as scientists tell us we need to transition into renewable energy infrastructure. To me, this is the most painful part of all: the banks get their money from us - unsuspecting consumers who bank with them and use their credit cards.
